Our Melster academy offers you comprehensive and practical training on the Automotive SPiCE® standard - from the basics to expert level. With our online courses, you can prepare for the increasing demands of the automotive industry anytime and anywhere and advance your career.

Structure and learning path

The Melster academy offers structured and practical training in three consecutive levels that are individually tailored to your knowledge and experience. Each level is carefully designed to introduce you step-by-step to the complex world of ASPICE and automotive development and provide you with the knowledge you need to be successful in your professional environment.

Foundation Level

The introduction to the world of ASPICE. Here you will learn the basics of the standard, its history and the importance of processes in automotive development. You will gain an overview of the most important processes and their benefits for product development.

  • Introduction to Automotive SPiCE® and its importance
  • Overview of all process areas and basic practices
  • Core processes and their implementation in practice
  • Important terms and concepts, such as information objects and best practices

Target audience: Developers, project managers and interested parties who are looking for a sound introduction to ASPICE.
 

Advanced Level

This level deepens your knowledge of ASPICE and shows you how the processes are interconnected. You will learn how to optimally prepare yourself and your team for assessments, effectively optimize processes and deal with specific challenges.

  • Preparing for assessments and dealing with different types of assessors
  • Best practices for all process areas
  • Introduction to agile methods, review and estimation procedures
  • Dealing with customer-specific requirements and VDA guidelines

Expert Level

At this highest level, you will become a true ASPICE expert. You will learn how to act as a coach and assessor, conduct complex assessments and successfully plan and manage process improvement programs.

  • Interview techniques and potential analyses
  • Use and integration of typical tools in the development process

Target audience: Experienced assessors, coaches and managers who want to deepen their skills and act as experts in their company.

  1. Choose your level: Decide which level - Foundation, Advanced or Expert - corresponds to your current knowledge and professional goals. This ensures that you start exactly where you will benefit the most.
     
  2. Book your personal appointment: Do you have questions about the course content or do you need individual advice? Simply make an appointment with our team or directly with Ronald Melster, Principal Assessor and main lecturer. Together we will find the best way for your further education.
     
  3. Learn at your own pace: Use our extensive collection of video courses and teaching materials to learn flexibly and independently. The content is structured in such a way that you can apply what you have learned directly in your daily work.
     
  4. Attestation and feedback: Complete the selected level with an exam and receive a document as proof of your acquired skills. In addition, we offer you the opportunity to book personal feedback and coaching sessions to further your development.

The Melster academy is aimed at anyone who wants to learn more about Automotive SPICE® and related topics - from beginners who want to learn the basics to experienced professionals who want to deepen and specialize their knowledge.

We offer three levels: Foundation, Advanced and Expert. Each level is tailored to specific learning needs and experience backgrounds so that you gain exactly the knowledge you need.

Simply select the desired level and book the corresponding course via our website. If you have any questions or need advice, you can also book an appointment with our team or Ronald Melster in advance.

The “Community of Practice” is a weekly call in which workshops are held on various topics relating to Automotive SPICE® and related areas. Here you can deepen your knowledge, exchange ideas with other participants and ask questions directly to the lecturers. Participation in these calls can be booked separately.

Our courses consist of video lessons, interactive exercises, workshops and optional live coaching sessions. The “Community of Practice” supplements the learning offer with weekly live sessions.

No prior knowledge is required for the Foundation level. The Advanced level requires basic knowledge of ASPICE and related topics, while the Expert level requires in-depth knowledge and practical experience.

There is a short quiz at the end of each chapter to make sure you have understood everything before you move on to the next chapter.

And, at the end of each level you can take an test to check your knowledge and receive a certificate confirming the knowledge you have acquired.

Yes, on completion of the courses we offer an award that confirms the knowledge and skills you have acquired.

Ronald Melster has been working in the automotive industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience in the implementation and assessment of Automotive SPICE® standards. As a Principal Assessor, he supports leading companies worldwide in optimizing their development processes and meeting the required quality standards. He is not only an expert in Automotive SPICE®, but also a passionate coach and mentor who knows how to convey complex topics in a practical and understandable way.

Thanks to his many years of experience as a coach and consultant, Ronald Melster has successfully supported numerous development projects and has first-hand knowledge of the challenges facing the automotive industry. His aim is to support specialists in deepening and applying their knowledge of Automotive SPICE® in order to pave the way for sustainable process improvement.
